Small Hall Songwriters Contest & Showcase
The Small Hall concert series has partnered with Pop Up Oxford Festival to host our first Songwriters Contest and Showcase. The event will kick off the Pop Up Oxford Festival celebrating regional songwriters and performers.
The Small Hall Songwriters Contest & Showcase provides songwriters an opportunity to submit their work for review with the top twelve being selected for the contest.
Prizes for the contest:
First Place: $500 & Booking on Thacker Mountain Radio Show (based on mutual availability)
Second Place: $250
Third Place: $100
Audience Award: A $50 award will be determined by vote from the audience as to their favorite song of the Showcase
Deadline: Friday, December 1, 2017
Notification: Finalists will be notified by: December 21, 2017
Contest & Showcase: Saturday, January 20, 2019 7pm-9pm
About the Small Hall:
The Small Hall is a monthly listening room concert series promoting an intimate concert experience to connect songwriters with music enthusiast. Hosted the first Wednesday of each month on the historic Oxford Square.
Singer-songwriter may submit one song for $15 or two songs for $25. Entrance fee is nonrefundable. Checks and money orders should be made payable to:Yoknapatawpha Arts Council. If you wish for your CD to be returned, you must include a self-addressed, stamped envelope. Otherwise, your CD will not be returned

Terms & Conditions
Singer-songwriters are invited to submit one or two original songs per entry written by the contestant that have not previously been published, recorded and/or released under contract with a third party. Recordings must be clearly understandable, but otherwise the quality of production does not matter. All entries submitted must be original songs and shall not infringe any copyrights or any other rights of any third parties. The singer-songwriter retains all rights to the songs.
Submissions must be made under the name of a solo singer-songwriter only. Although a band may be used in the recording of your submitted material, if chosen as a finalist, your performance at the contest may be as a solo, due or trio act with the songwriter as the lead performer. Recordings should be a representation of singer-songwriters live performance
